Let your “yes” be generous and your “no” be wise.

I'm starting to realize the two most powerful words are “yes” and “no.” How I use them determines how I set my schedule. How I set my schedule determines how I live my life. How I live my life determines how I spend my soul. When I think about my decisions in this light, it gives gravity to choosing wisely.

When we lead ourselves with the mindset of “what’s wise,” we can better discern the moment and stay awake to what’s important. This perspective empowers us to shift away from the pressure to be impressive and instead encourages us to be wise. This fundamental humility rearranges our priorities and changes the way we think.

As Christine Cain shares, “There are seasons when God invites us not to strive harder, but to release more intentionally.” She shares how open hands, aligned availability, and a posture of readiness shape her leadership. Below are the three practices that help keep you attentive to what matters most in this season:

1. Practice the Discipline of Open Hands. Identify one thing you will intentionally release.

2. Lead from Availability, Not Over-Extension. Availability creates margin for discernment. Before saying yes, ask: “Is this aligned, or am I trying to prove something?”

3. Lead with a Posture of Readiness, Not Scarcity. Shift from fear-based planning to trust-based preparation. Empty hands are not a lack; they are readiness.

Our strength lies in silence, and when we wisely discern the moment and stay awake to what’s important, we experience greater clarity, peace, fulfillment, confidence, and more!

“You're living in a slice of your 'all' at this very moment. Don't devalue today or get lost wishing for tomorrow. Even the mundane moments are preparing you in significant ways.”

Intentionally Own It! What growth does this message inspire me to embrace, and what makes it matter? When I embrace it, who am I becoming, and what value does this add to my life and to others?
