For more than twenty-five years, Happy Monday has been my way of helping people begin the week with something meaningful to think about—and something simple enough to live.
Each Monday, I share a story, thought, or question designed to help you pause, notice something you may have overlooked, and carry one meaningful idea into the week ahead.
No homework. No ten-step formula. Just something worth carrying with you, because who you're becoming shapes how you show up. And how you show up matters—to your work, your relationships, your leadership, and the people whose lives intersect with yours.
The Happy Monday! Story
Happy Monday began with something simple.
As a junior high student, I started collecting quotes, stories, and ideas that made me think about life differently.
Years later, when I entered the professional world, I noticed how easily people greeted Mondays with frustration and dread.
I wanted to bring something different.
So, every Monday morning, I placed a short note of encouragement in my coworkers' office mailboxes –nothing complicated – just a few words that might help someone begin the week differently.
And I kept going…
Week after week — year after year.
Eventually, those handwritten notes grew into Happy Monday and a community of people who continue to begin their weeks with me today.
Along the way, life gave me plenty of opportunities to discover whether the things I was writing about actually mattered.
Only months after leaving a successful career to pursue my dream of building a leadership business, I was diagnosed with cancer. That season reminded me that perspective isn't just something we talk about when life is going well – what we practice in ordinary moments becomes available to us when life gets hard.
And somewhere along the way, I realized Happy Monday wasn't only encouraging other people; it was shaping me, too.
Maybe that's why I've never stopped.
Happy Monday isn't about starting every week perfectly; it's about …
Beginning again.
Paying attention.
Choosing what matters.
Encouraging someone.
Trying something different.
Becoming a little more of the person you want to be, one Monday at a time.
