“I don’t have to chase extraordinary moments to find happiness – it’s right in front of me if I’m paying attention and practicing gratitude.” – Brene Brown

Christmas lists are part of the Christmas season, especially when it comes to gift-giving. But we make lists for more than gifts at Christmas.

In fact, Christmas is probably the most intentional and purposeful season of the year. Our to-do list grows longer. Our calendars become a holiday activity list.

Amidst all of this, how do we include an other-centered attitude on our Christmas list, alongside all the gifts and activities we pursue? Asked another way, what is our personal “reason for the season?”

Instead of letting busyness steal our joy, let us purpose to be a source of joy throughout the season. Pray that you’ll be shown practical ways to manifest and share the joy that is the hallmark of Christmas. We can’t change the whole world on our own, but we can make a difference in our small corner when we open our eyes and hearts to those around us.

When we intentionally save space so we can be used in a purposeful fashion, we leave room to be a spontaneous blessing to others.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, when we make it the most thoughtful time of the year. How can you celebrate Christmas this year with increased intentionality?

Together, let’s commit to allowing this Christmas to remind us that we are here to make a positive impact on others by living generous, light-bearing lives, starting with our own homes.

I encourage you to thoughtfully rearrange your heart's priorities to be a source of joy throughout the Christmas season and beyond, reminding yourself that every moment is a choice.

Intentionally Own It! How will I celebrate Christmas this year with increased intentionality, and why does it matter? When I embrace it, who am I becoming, and what value does this add to my life and to others?
